For more than 180 years, Tidmarsh have been the bespoke blind experts, creating stunning solutions for every home – whether a modern apartment or a traditional farmhouse. In those years, our range and expertise has naturally expanded to include technological innovation and superb engineering, but we maintain the high standards of quality and craftsmanship that are synonymous with our name.

Tidmarsh Bespoke Blinds and Curtains

You can’t be established as blind experts for nearly 200 years without picking up a few fans! Today we’re sharing some of the places we’ve been featured around the internet and in various publications.

“Window Blinds: Their Making and Fixing”, published in 1907. Published over one hundred years ago, and written by Paul N. Hasluck, who was considered to be a true woodworking guru, this is a classic guide to making and maintaining a variety of different styles of blinds from wood, metal, and even glass.

“Patents for Inventions: Abridgments of Specifications”, published in 1903. An even older publication, this book collects a history of patents, and features Tidmarsh & Sons very first patent for our Patent Action Spring Rollers, first patented in the 1880s.

We’ve even found some adverts from the very early 1900s and late 19th century, which are quite the contrast to our current, cutting-edge technology stance! It’s incredible how much blind and curtain making as an art has evolved over the past century, and Tidmarsh have been at the forefront every step of the way.

In more recent publications, we’ve been featured in the Architects Journal, Pro Landscaper, and House & Garden. We’ve also had lovely features in Country Life and the RIBA Journal.

Our “beautifully made” Chain Lath Blinds were recommended by The Telegraph, where they nicely stated “they have a functional and smart feel and they last for decades with virtually no maintenance.”

Our Wooden Venetian Blinds were recommended by The Guardian, while architect Nico Rensch of Architeam sung our praises in regards to our custom made roller blinds for The Independent; they “offer privacy without cutting out all the light.”

An ultra-modern home that we worked on with Architect Suzanne Brewer had a lovely feature on Homes & Property. You can read more about the Electric External Venetian Blinds on our website, and also at the Architects website.

Remember, Tidmarsh are the blinds experts, and we’d love to help you with your bespoke blind projects, whether they’re traditional wooden venetians or a fully integrated Lutron system. Please feel free to get in touch for a free quote, or with any questions that our expert team can help with.
