Introducing technology to an old craft
Tidmarsh have been making wood slat Venetian blinds – Timbershades – for over 160 years and have been able to introduce technology to an old craft, thereby producing a blind of unrivalled quality. The Timbershade Venetian blind is unique in the blind industry, because of the quality and finish of the wood used. The slats are made from Western Red Cedar imported from the managed forests of Canada, where some of the most enlightened forestry management policies are in place. We mill and finish the wood into thin slats and then each blind is constructed by hand. Due to this process we are able to bring out the best in the colour and grain of wood available. Western Red Cedar is ideal as it is lightweight and stable, is naturally rot resistant and will not deteriorate if damp.
Attractive scented wood
Timbershade are available in two different slat widths: 48mm and 68mm, the 48mm being the most popular, the slats are carried in ladder tapes or strings, the tapes are available in two widths 25mm or 38mm.
